Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder marked by disturbances in thought, perception, emotion, and behaviour that impair patients’ social functioning and daily activities. Recovery is not determined by pharmacological treatment alone; optimal family support also shapes patients’ confidence in managing their own treatment, commonly termed self-efficacy. This study examined the relationship between family support and self-efficacy among schizophrenia patients redeeming medication at a community pharmacy (Pharmacy X) in Bandung City. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was used with 60 respondents selected through purposive sampling from a population of 70 patients. Family support and self-efficacy were measured using questionnaires whose validity and reliability had been established, and the relationship between variables was tested using Spearman’s Rank Correlation. The analysis yielded a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.890 with a significance value (p) of 0.000, indicating a very strong, positive, and statistically significant association. The novelty of this study lies in situating data collection within a community pharmacy rather than an inpatient or psychiatric outpatient setting, thereby reframing the routine medication-redemption encounter as an underexplored point of family psychoeducation intervention. This study recommends strengthening the pharmacist’s role as a facilitator of family support in schizophrenia management.
