Background: Nursing students must meet the safety awareness requirements to conduct clinical learning in a safe environment. The high risk of injury among nursing students, including the risk of exposure to body fluids and blood, is influenced by many factors related to clinical learning. Objectives: To optimize information technology support through the development of e-RISK for Education and Identification of Occupational Risks Due to Exposure to Blood and Body Fluids in Nursing Students and see its effect on safety awareness of nursing students. Methods: Multicenter research with a pra-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test without control group design approach was used, and the development of e-RISK was carried out through the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) stages. Testing the effect of e-RISK on safety awareness of nursing students using a paired t-test involving 120 students from three urban region in Indonesia using the purposive sampling technique. Results: The majority of nursing students are female, as many as 98 people (81.6%) with an average age in the young adult age range (18.8 years). The average safety awareness score before using e-RISK was 44.78 and after 46.46, and there was a significant difference in safety awareness in nursing students before and after learning by e-RISK (p 0.0001).Conclusions: e-RISK for education and identification of occupational risks due to exposure to blood and body fluids based on the ADDIE model increases safety awareness of nursing students. The e-RISK development method is a relevant method to increase awareness of personal health and safety aspects for nursing students and ensure further implementation that can be synergized to create a safe clinical environment for nursing students.
