<![CDATA[Introduction : The majority of nursing educational institutions in Indonesia are still in the process of perfecting the implementation of national standardized OSCE. Leadership has a strong influence on organizational performance. The purpose of the study was to identify the influence of caring leadership on institutional and student readiness to implement national standardized OSCEMethod: The study used a quasi-experimental pre and post test design with a control group. A sample of 107 lecturers and 120 nursing professional program students from 6 universities (2 state universities, 2 private universities and 2 STIKES) covering 4 provinces in Indonesia. Three universities as the intervention group and three others as the control group. Sampling was carried out consecutively. Measurements used a questionnaire with a Likert scale, Data analysis used Man-Whitney and Wilcoxon.Results: The study found that caring leadership increased significantly in the intervention group (P-value = 0.01) after being given socialization of the implementation of caring leadership. Institutions in the intervention group were more prepared to implement national standardized OSCE than the control group (P-value = 0.001). The readiness of students in the intervention group to carry out the national OSCE in a composite manner was higher (P=value = 0.01) compared to the control group.Conclusion: Caring leadership is able to increase the readiness of institutions and students to carry out the national standardized OSCE in a composite manner in the intervention group.]]>
