<![CDATA[Background: The malnutrition issue in Indonesia remains a health challenge that the government has not yet completely solved. If we look at overall prevalence of stunting, both mid and severe, the prevalence is 30.8%. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors associated with stunting among children under 5 years of age in Bangkalan district. Methods: This study This quantitative study employed an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design to identify factors associated with undernutrition among children under five years of age in Bangkalan Regency. The samples are 398 toodler using proportional random sampling, The dependent variable was undernutrition among children under five and independent sex, History of low birth weight, Maternal anemia during pregnancy and History of chronic energy deficiency, analyzed using chi square. Results: The value <0.001 which means that the nutritional status of the toddler significantly influences stunting in toddlers. The ρ-value 0.007 which means that the anemia history of mothers significantly influences stunting in toddlers and stunting in toddlers is strongly influenced by the mother's CED history, as indicated by the ρ value <α (p value < 0.001). Conclusion: This study identified several maternal and child factors associated with undernutrition among children under five years of age in Bangkalan Regency. Although child sex and a history of low birth weight were not significantly associated with undernutrition, maternal nutritional conditions during pregnancy and the nutritional status of children remain important determinants that should be addressed through comprehensive maternal and child health interventions.]]>
