<![CDATA[This study was motivated by the suboptimal coordination between the Village Consultative Body (BPD) and the Village Head regarding the formulation of Village Regulations in Cimaragas Village, Cimaragas District, Ciamis Regency. Effective coordination is essential to ensure the Village Regulation formulation process proceeds in a focused and participatory manner, in accordance with the respective duties and authorities of each party. This study aims to examine the coordination between the BPD and the Village Head in formulating Village Regulations in Cimaragas Village. A descriptive qualitative method was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving five informants: the BPD Chairperson, the Village Head, the Village Secretary, a BPD member, and the Head of the Village Government Section. The analysis of coordination utilized the principles outlined by Wardhana (2024): recognition of shared resources, producer-consumer relationships, simultaneity constraints, and task-subtask interdependence. The results indicate that coordination between the BPD and the Village Head regarding Village Regulation formulation has proceeded reasonably well but has not yet reached optimal levels. Regarding the recognition of shared resources, both parties understand their respective duties, functions, and procedures and utilize their individual capabilities; however, differences in understanding regulations and technical provisions persist. In terms of producer-consumer relationships, communication and openness have been maintained through meetings, deliberations, and joint discussions, although challenges regarding scheduling and differences of opinion remain. Regarding simultaneity constraints, coordination and scheduling adjustments across stages have been implemented but are not fully optimal due to the parties' respective busy schedules. Meanwhile, concerning task-subtask interdependence, the division of duties and responsibilities is clearly defined, though coordination is still required when differences arise regarding regulatory interpretations or the follow-up to discussions. Efforts to address these obstacles include continuous communication, deliberation, discussion, alignment of perceptions, regulatory consultation, and schedule adjustments. Therefore, sustained improvement in coordination is necessary to ensure that the formulation of Village Regulations in Cimaragas Village proceeds more effectively and in accordance with applicable regulations.]]>
