<![CDATA[Purpose: This study aims to test the hypotheses regarding the positive relationship between job commitment and job satisfaction, as well as the negative relationship between workload and performance among nurses in the inpatient unit at Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar. Research Method: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional analytical design. All 120 nurses were selected using a saturation sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive analysis, the Chi-square test, and Spearman’s correlation. Results and Discussion: Job commitment and job satisfaction were positively associated with nurses’ performance, whereas workload was negatively associated with performance. Dedication showed the strongest positive association, while physical workload showed the strongest negative association. These findings highlight the importance of a balance between psychological resources, organizational support, and job demands. Implications: Hospitals need to strengthen recognition, supervision, career development, team relationships, adequate staffing, and a proportional division of labor. Future research is recommended to use a longitudinal design, objective performance data, and multivariate analysis.
