PERAN DIASPORA ETNIS GORONTALO TERHADAP SEJARAH PERKEMBANGAN ISLAM DI KOTA TAHUNA TAHUN 1960-2023

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran diaspora etnis Gorontalo terhadap perkembangan Islam di Kota Tahuna, Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe, periode 1960–2023. Penelitian menggunakan metode sejarah melalui tahapan heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diaspora Gorontalo tidak hanya berperan dalam kehidupan sosial dan ekonomi, tetapi juga berkontribusi terhadap penguatan kehidupan keagamaan masyarakat Muslim di Tahuna. Sejak dekade 1970-an, komunitas Gorontalo berkembang sebagai kelompok Muslim yang relatif solid melalui peran tokoh masyarakat, pendirian Masjid Al-Hikmah, serta pelaksanaan pengajian, majelis taklim, dan perayaan hari besar Islam. Kerukunan Keluarga Indonesia Gorontalo (KKIG) turut memperkuat peran tersebut melalui pengorganisasian kegiatan sosial-keagamaan, penyediaan lahan pemakaman, dan pelaksanaan Pasar Senggol. Dengan demikian, diaspora Gorontalo memiliki kontribusi penting dalam mempertahankan dan mengembangkan eksistensi Islam sekaligus membangun integrasi sosial di tengah masyarakat Tahuna yang majemuk. This study aims to analyze the role of the Gorontalo ethnic diaspora in the development of Islam in Tahuna City, Sangihe Islands Regency, during the period 1960–2023. This research employs a historical method through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The findings indicate that the Gorontalo diaspora contributed not only to the social and economic life of the community but also to strengthening Islamic religious life in Tahuna. Since the 1970s, the Gorontalo community has developed into a relatively cohesive Muslim group through the role of community leaders, the establishment of Al-Hikmah Mosque, and the organization of Islamic activities such as religious study groups, majelis taklim, and Islamic celebrations. The Gorontalo Indonesian Family Association (KKIG) also strengthened these contributions through the organization of socio-religious activities, provision of cemetery land, and implementation of the Pasar Senggol. Thus, the Gorontalo diaspora has played an important role in maintaining and developing the presence of Islam while fostering social integration within Tahuna’s diverse society
