Abstract

In today’s interconnected world, businesses need to communicate effectively across languages to succeed. This study focuses on improving French-English translation to break down language barriers and enhance international business communication, guided by Skopos theory. This theoretical framework emphasises the purpose and function of translation, ensuring that translations are tailored to achieve specific goals and meet the needs of the target audience. We will explore the challenges and opportunities of translating between French and English in business settings, highlighting the importance of cultural understanding, language expertise and technology. Our goal is to provide actionable insights for businesses looking to expand globally and build strong relationships with French-speaking partners and client. By understanding what works best in French-English translation, we aim to help businesses communicate more effectively, avoid misunderstandings and build trust with their international partners. Our findings will offer practical recommendations for businesses, translators and communication professionals to improve their translation practices and succeed in the global market. Ultimately, this study aims to bridge the language gap between French and English-speaking businesses, promoting better communication, collaboration and mutual understanding. By doing so, we will help businesses compete and drive economic growth.
