Background: Cervical cancer is one of the most common malignancies among women, and pain is one of the frequent complaints experienced by patients. Pain may arise from tumor invasion, metastasis, or as a side effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Slow Stroke Back Massage (SSBM) combined with lavender aromatherapy is a non-pharmacological intervention that may provide relaxation and help reduce pain intensity. Purpose: This study aimed to describe the application of Slow Stroke Back Massage combined with lavender aromatherapy in a patient with cervical cancer experiencing pain in Bougenvile 1 Ward, RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta. Method: This study used a descriptive case study design involving one patient with cervical cancer who met the inclusion criteria. The intervention was administered once daily for 15 minutes over three consecutive days. Pain intensity was measured using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) before and after each intervention session. Result: The patient's pain intensity decreased from a score of 5, categorized as moderate pain, before the intervention to a score of 2, categorized as mild pain, after three days of intervention. A reduction of one point in pain intensity was observed after each intervention session. Conclusion: The application of Slow Stroke Back Massage combined with lavender aromatherapy showed a reduction in pain intensity in the patient with cervical cancer and may be considered a complementary non-pharmacological nursing intervention to support cancer pain management.
