Waste management remains one of the challenges faced by the community of Kajoran Village, Klaten Selatan District, Klaten Regency, particularly due to limited waste management facilities and the continued practice of open waste burning. This community service activity aimed to provide an alternative for managing inorganic waste through the construction of a low-smoke waste incineration facility and to increase community knowledge, awareness, and involvement in more responsible waste management. The activity was conducted in RW 002 and RW 003 of Kajoran Village by applying the principles of the participatory action aporoach, which emphasize active community involvement at every stage of the activity. The implementation included problem identification, coordination with the village government and community members, collaborative construction of the facility through mutual cooperation, and assistance in its utilization and maintenance. The results showed that the construction of the low-smoke inorganic waste incineration facility provided a more controlled alternative to open waste burning. Community involvement from the planning stage through the utilization of the facility also encouraged increased participation, knowledge, awareness, and a sense of ownership of the facility. Thus, this activity represents one of the efforts to support more responsible and sustainable community-based waste management in Kajoran Village.
