Improper household waste management and the volatility of agricultural commodity prices during peak harvest seasons pose obstacles to sustainable rural development in Karanggondang Village, Banjarnegara. This study aims to enhance community knowledge and skills through a circular economy approach that integrates waste management with the downstream processing of chili harvests. Conducted from July 8 to August 11, 2026, across four hamlets (Karanggondang, Kaliparus, Mandala, and Segan), the program employed mobile community outreach and targeted participatory grouping methods. Implementation involved problem identification, interactive outreach sessions, and hands-on training in producing dried chili powder, multi-tiered gallon composting systems, Takakura baskets, and eco-enzyme fermentation. Results demonstrated significant active participation and effective technical knowledge acquisition among farmer groups, PKK women's groups, and health volunteers. Diversifying fresh chilies into dried chili powder successfully minimized post-harvest losses, extended shelf life, and increased household economic value. Simultaneously, the application of appropriate waste processing technologies effectively produced liquid organic fertilizer (leachate), solid compost, and eco-enzymes (acting as natural bio-cleaners), thereby reducing the volume of organic waste sent to the local landfill. In conclusion, integrating agricultural produce processing with household waste management within a circular economy framework offers a replicable model for achieving self-reliant environmental governance and fostering sustainable rural economic independence.
