Nausea and vomiting (emesis gravidarum) is a common first-trimester complaint that can progress to hyperemesis gravidarum if left unmanaged. Hypnotherapy serves as a potential non-pharmacological alternative through mind relaxation and positive suggestions. Objective: To determine the effect of hypnotherapy on nausea and vomiting among first-trimester pregnant women in the Working Area of Tenayan Raya Public Health Center, Pekanbaru City, in 2026. Methods: This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental approach with a pre-post test design. A sample of 30 first-trimester pregnant women was selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected using the PUQE-24 questionnaire and analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. Results: The mean score of nausea and vomiting before the intervention (pre-test) was 10.53 (SD = 1.45). After the hypnotherapy intervention (post-test), the mean score significantly decreased to 7.40 (SD = 1.65). Statistical analysis showed a significant difference with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion and Suggestion: Hypnotherapy significantly reduces nausea and vomiting in first-trimester pregnant women. Midwives and healthcare facilities are recommended to implement this therapy as a non-pharmacological care option. Future researchers should explore other psychological and nutritional variables.
