<![CDATA[Language is an important aspect in our life. Language is needed in order for us to communicate with the other person and convey our message to other. With many language has varied between the lands, translation is needed in order for us to understand the language and to avoid misunderstood between the speaker and listener. However, translation also come with some difficulties as translation slang expression as slang is vocabulary used between people who belong to same social group or to a well-known friend. Identify the slang word translation strategies and describing the translation strategy that applied in the film Free Guy become the aim of this study. The movie Free Guy used in analyzing the slang word used in the film. The data collected from both of the English and Indonesia subtitle. Descriptive qualitative method used in this study to answer the problems of the study and analyzed the data. There are 7 slang word translation strategies adopted and modify from Baker’s translation strategies in order to analyses the data. Newmark’s translation strategies also used in analyzing the translating of the slang word of the SL into the TL word. The finding shows there are 51 data found in 7 slang word translation strategies with the first and sixth type of slang word translation strategy, Translation of slang word in SL into slang into TL and Translation slang in SL into loan word in TL became the strategy with least word in their strategy. And there are 7 strategies from Newmark’s translation strategies applied from the slang word that is translated from the SL into the TL word.
