Bullying has become a critical issue, particularly in educational settings. Cases of bullying occur not only at a single educational level but across elementary, middle, and high schools. Every year, the number of bullying cases continues to rise. It is important to study the factors that cause bullying as a basis for prevention efforts in schools. This article reviews 15 studies on the factors that cause bullying. The method used is a literature review, which involves analyzing 15 research articles according to predetermined criteria. Based on the analysis of these studies, it was found that there are five factors contributing to bullying. These factors are the individual, family, peers, social environment, and digital media. These findings confirm that the factors leading a person to engage in bullying do not exist in isolation but are interconnected with other factors. Collaboration among the entire school community and parents is essential in efforts to prevent bullying in schools.
