The transportation subsystem is a crucial component of solid waste management in Indonesia, absorbing the largest budget allocation, which ranges from 60% to 80% of the total operational costs. The selection and accuracy of the transport pattern serve as the primary determining factors in maintaining transport efficiency, trip turnaround times, and the sustainability of urban sanitation services. This study aims to identify the waste transportation patterns implemented in Banjarmasin City. The research method employed is descriptive-analytical, with data collection based on direct field observations and structured interviews. The results indicate that the waste transportation pattern in Banjarmasin City adheres to a Hauled Container System (HCS) and a mixed Stationary Container System (SCS). Based on technical planning, the total fleet of 62 units includes 33 units of dump trucks and 3 units of compactor trucks to serve the mixed SCS pattern, while the HCS pattern is allocated using 26 units of armroll trucks. However, field findings reveal a mismatch between the actual function of the fleet and the transport patterns established by local regulations. Several fleets operate outside their functional capacities, which directly decreases operational effectiveness, increases fuel costs, and causes transport delays that trigger waste accumulation at several Temporary Disposal Sites (TPS).
