This study aims to determine the effect of social capital on the interest in paying zakat with loyalty as an intervening variable at BAZNAS of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The background of the study is the decreasing trend in zakat fund collection from IDR 12.63 billion (2020) to IDR 2.65 billion (2025), which indicates weak social capital and loyalty of muzakki. The quantitative research method with a sample of 96 muzakki from a population of 1,728 people, analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results of the study prove: (1) Social capital has a positive and significant effect on the interest in paying zakat; (2) Social capital has a positive and significant effect on loyalty; (3) Loyalty has a positive and significant effect on the interest in paying zakat; (4) Loyalty significantly mediates the effect of social capital on the interest in paying zakat. The R-square value of 0.709 indicates that the social capital and loyalty variables are able to explain the interest in paying zakat by 70.9%. Overall, strong social capital (trust, social networks, and norms) will build loyalty among zakat payers, which in turn increases their willingness to pay zakat. Loyalty plays a crucial role as a variable that strengthens the relationship between social capital and willingness to pay zakat.
