This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the Heyzine Ebook as an interactive learning medium in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject to improve the understanding of ecosystem concepts among fifth-grade elementary school students. The Heyzine Ebook is designed with simple features such as moving images, interactive games, and quizzes tailored to the cognitive level of children aged 10–11, facilitating learning through visual and hands-on exploration. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design involving fifth grade students at SDN Legok, Kebasen District, Banyumas. The results showed a significant improvement in the understanding of ecosystem concepts among the experimental group using the Heyzine Ebook compared to the control group using conventional methods. Data analysis using a t-test revealed a p-value < 0.05, with the experimental group's average posttest score reaching 78.5, while the control group scored 65.3. These findings confirm that the Heyzine Ebook is effective in enhancing student engagement and understanding of ecosystem concepts through enjoyable, technology-based learning. This study contributes to the development of digital teaching materials at the elementary school level and suggests further integration into the IPAS curriculum.
