Abstract

The Achievement Credit System (SKP) at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang has been digitalized through a website-based system that is currently still in the staging phase of development. However, the system is built using a monolithic architecture that combines the frontend and backend layers into a single unit, making SKP data only accessible through a web browser and unable to be consumed by other platforms such as mobile applications. This research aims to design, develop, and test a RESTful API service using the Laravel framework as an independent backend infrastructure capable of serving data requests from various client platforms flexibly. The Research and Development (R&D) method adapted from Sugiyono's model with six stages was employed: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and product testing. Design validation by two validators yielded a feasibility percentage of 79%, categorized as Feasible. Functional testing using the Black Box Testing method with Postman resulted in all 31 test scenarios declared PASS, proving that all 16 endpoints function according to the designed specifications. Performance testing using Apache JMeter on three representative endpoints across three load scenarios showed that the server successfully processed all requests without a single failure (Error % = 0.00%) across all nine tested scenarios, with the highest CPU usage reaching 88% in the high load scenario and memory usage remaining within safe limits with a peak value of 41.0% of the total 1 GB server memory capacity. The resulting RESTful API service consists of 16 endpoints protected by a stateless authentication mechanism based on Personal Access Token (PAT) using Laravel Sanctum and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and is integrated with the Google Drive API for centralized certificate file storage in cloud services.
