The freshwater snail (Faunus ater) is a mollusk widely distributed in Indonesian freshwaters ecosystem, including in Aceh Province. Locally known as "cue" by the Acehnese people, it is commonly use as the main ingredient in a traditional dish called "kuah cue." This study aims to identify Vibrio sp. associated with Faunus ater collected from the Leupung, Glee Bruek, and Saney rivers in Aceh Besar using 16S rRNA gene analysis. Bacterial isolation was carried out using Nutrient Broth (NB) and Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Sucrose (TCBS) agar, followed by molecular Characterization of the isolates based on the 16S rRNA gene. The results showed turbidity in the NB medium and the growth of round, green colonies on the TCBS agar. Molecular analysis further revealed that the bacterial isolate exhibited 99.28% sequence similarity to Vibrio parahaemolyticus. In conclusion, this study confirms the presence of Vibrio sp. in Faunus ater inhabiting the Leupung, Glee Bruek, and Saney rivers of Aceh Besar.
