<![CDATA[MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 contains a series of 'clauses' of support for the Palestinian cause, most of which contain guidance on sharia laws, one of which is the prohibition of transacting products affiliated with Israel or the practical term is "Boycott". This study aims to examine the community's response to the MUI fatwa No. 83 of 2023 and its implications on the economic behavior of Muslims in Pontianak City. The S-O-R theory is used as a "tool" in measuring the depth of the community's response, shifts and implications. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews. The informants in this study were selected purposively, consisting of consumers, business actors, religious leaders, academics and other related parties whose goal is to explore more deeply the community's response. The results showed that 50% of informants accepted the fatwa absolutely, 30% accepted the fatwa partially and 20% of the informants rejected the fatwa. Another finding of this study is the occurrence of a shift in response periodization which also affects economic behavior, according to the analysis of the chairman of the West Kalimantan MUI Fatwa Commission, this shift is caused by the characteristic factors of the fatwa are temporary (Ghairu Muabbad and the reduction of boycott framing from social and electronic media. This study concludes that the public's response to the fatwa is dynamic so that it allows for a shift in response and its implications for economic behavior.]]>
