<![CDATA[The use of social media, particulary TikTok, has has increased rapidly among adolescents and may affect their self-control abilities. This study aimed to examine the relationship between the intensity of TikTok use and self-control among tenth-grade students at MAN 2 Sleman Yogyakarta. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 133 students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a TikTok usage intensity scale and a self-control scale, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results revealed a statistically significant relationship between TikTok usage intensity and students’ self-control (r = 0.239; p = 0.006; p < 0.05). Although the strength of the correlation was weak, it was statistically meaningful. Descriptive analysis showed that most students were categorized as having low to moderate TikTok usage intensity, while their self-control levels were generally moderate to high. These findings suggest that adolescents’ self-control is not solely influenced by the frequency or intensity of social media use, but also by other factors such as self-regulation, social context, and usage motivation. This study provides implications for educational institutions and school counseling services in strengthening digital literacy and promoting adaptive self-control among adolescents. ]]>
