The need for internet data access to support several existing services and applications continues to increase, along with increasing users annually as projected by the international standard of telecommunications, namely 3GPP and 3GPP2. The current utilization of 4G technology has not been optimal and not sufficient enough to meet the increasing number of customers in data access that require faster data rates and greater capacity generated from mobile user video traffic and social media networks on smartphones, mobile PC and tablet. The increasing number of data communication users, which impacted the greater the amount of data traffic generated in cellular mobile network systems. Beside that, mobile operators had to increase the number of cell sites (NodeB) in order to anticipate this huge volume of traffic data. Yet, with implementation of 4.5G (LTE-Advance Pro) technology enhanced network performance and network system’s capacity. Three of new features encompassed 32-component carriers (CC) that combined downlink using carrier aggregation to increase the capacity, 256-QAM modulation on the downlink and 64-QAM on the uplink, and MIMO systems FDD 4T4R / TDD 8T8R to increase the overall bitrates. From the test result done by some operators, the technology utilization increased the downlink data speed from the standard 4G LTE speed, which achieved 1 to 4 Gbps by combining all these technologies. It’s 10 times comparing to the standard LTE. LTE-Advanced Pro would have been greater capacity with 640 MHz bandwidth and made the use of its frequency spectrum more efficient
