Background: Activities of Daily Living (ADL) are basic abilities required by older adults to independently meet their daily needs. Declining physical function due to the aging process can affect the ability of older adults to perform daily activities, making assessment using the Katz Index instrument necessary. Case Study Objective: To describe the level of independence among older adults in the Pajangan Community Health Center area in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) using the Katz Index instrument. Methods: A descriptive case study was conducted on 25 older adults in the Pajangan Community Health Center area through interviews and observations using the Katz Index instrument. Results: The respondents were predominantly aged >70 years, totaling 16 individuals (64%), and male, totaling 14 individuals (56%). The level of independence showed that 7 respondents (28%) were fully independent, 10 respondents (40%) had partial dependence, 6 respondents (24%) had severe dependence, and 2 respondents (8%) had total dependence. Conclusion: The level of independence among older adults ranged from fully independent to totally dependent, with partial dependence being the most common category. Suggestion: Pajangan Community Health Center is expected to regularly monitor the level of independence among older adults to help maintain their ability to perform daily activities.
