<![CDATA[This article examines the development dynamics of KUD Permata Sawit Maligi in Nagari Maligi, Sasak Ranah Pasisie District, West Pasaman Regency, from 1998 to 2023. The study aims to analyze how the cooperative evolved and the challenges it faced in managing community-based oil palm plantations. The main issues explored include the cooperative’s role in local economic development, its internal management dynamics, and conflicts arising between members and external parties, particularly PT. Permata Hijau Pasaman II. Using a historical method comprising heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, data were obtained through document analysis, field observations, and interviews with key informants. The findings indicate that KUD Permata Sawit Maligi has significantly contributed to local welfare and conflict resolution but has also experienced internal disputes that affected community trust. The study concludes that the cooperative’s sustainability depends on transparent management, member participation, and effective mediation in community-company relations.]]>
