Household waste management remains a challenge in Kahuman Village, Ngawen District, Klaten Regency, where most residents dispose of waste by burning it and have not optimally utilized the 3R waste processing facility. Low public awareness of organic and inorganic waste sorting is influenced by limited outreach and the absence of separated waste bins. This community service activity aimed to improve knowledge, foster awareness, and provide basic skills for sorting and processing organic and inorganic waste. The activity was carried out by students of KKN Group 207, Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Mas Said Surakarta, through socialization sessions and question-and-answer discussions during routine PKK (Family Welfare Movement) meetings in RT 08, 09, 10, 11, and 12 of Kahuman Village from 22 June to 3 August 2026. The results showed an improvement in community understanding of waste types, characteristics, and sorting procedures, along with active participation in the discussion sessions. As a follow-up, the provision of separated waste bins at strategic points in the village is planned to support the sustainability of source-based waste sorting.
