This study explores how academic staff at Satya Wacana Christian University experience and manages work-life balance. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through an initial survey and semi-structured interviews with eight lecturers and analyzed thematically using Fisher’s four work-life balance dimensions. Findings indicate that work interference with personal life is the main challenge, particularly due to administrative workloads and additional structural responsibilities. Time management, family and colleague support, and flexible working policies help lecturers maintain balance. However, periodic stress and burnout remain evident, highlighting the need for improved workload management and institutional well-being support.
