Diabetes mellitus is a disorder of blood glucose regulation caused by impaired insulin secretion. This study aimed to determine the antidiabetic activity of a combination of pulutan leaf extract (Urena lobata L.) and temu blenyeh leaf extract (Curcuma purpurascens Blume) in reducing blood glucose levels. Twenty‑five male white mice were divided into five groups. Diabetes was induced with 120mg/kgBW alloxan, and blood glucose was measured three days later. The groups received metformin 65mg/kgBW, (positive control), distilled water (negative control), or a combination of pulutan (300mg/kgBW) and temu blenyeh (400mg/kgBW) leaf extracts at ratios of 25%:75%, 50%:50%, and 75%:25%. Blood glucose levels were measured on days 1, 3, 5, and 7. All three combinations reduced blood glucose relative to the negative control and did not differ from metformin on day 7; the greatest reduction, 69.85 ± 3.51%, was obtained with pulutan and temu blenyeh leaf extracts at 25%:75%.
