This study aims to analyze the sustainable development of Pringmas Batik in Papringan Village, Banyumas Regency, and to formulate a development strategy that integrates the creative economy base on local wisdom. This study employs a qualitative approach using a retrospective case study design. Data were collected from 15 informants including Batik Pringmas management, consumers, batik experts, academics, journalists, and Papringan Village officials who were selected through purposive sampling. Data collection consisted of in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and literature review, followed by analysis using an interactive model that included data processing, drawing conclusions, and verification through triangulation. The research findings reveal strategic strengths that lie not only in the distinctive Banyumasan motifs rooted in Penginyongan culture and the philosophy of bamboo, but also in the artisans’ adaptability in maintaining the quality of hand-drawn batik amid the pressures of the modern market. Papringan’s presence strengthens the artisans’ bargaining power regarding market access, training, and partnerships, including support from the village government and academic networks. Potential areas for development include batik as a medium for education and creative cultural tourism that attracts the interest of the younger generation as well as tourists. Competition with printed batik also requires differentiation based on cultural value and quality. Recommended sustainable development strategies include product innovation, strengthening the Banyumasan cultural brand, optimizing digital marketing, enhancing human resource capacity, fostering the next generation of young artisans, protecting intellectual property rights, adopting environmentally friendly and developing educational batik tourism. The main contribution of this study's framework for sustainable batik development, grounded in the creative economy, integrates the preservation of local wisdom, the strengthening of community institutions, digital transformation, and sustainable cultural educational tourism.
