Low Birth Weight (LBW) infants are susceptible to sleep quality disturbances, which can affect their growth and development. Nesting therapy is a non-pharmacological intervention believed to improve sleep quality in LBW infants by providing comfort and stability in their sleeping position. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of nesting on the sleep quality of LBW infants in the Rejang Lebong area. This study use a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach on 15 LBW infants treated at An-Nissa Curup Hospital. Sleep quality was measured before and after the nesting therapy using a standard observational instrument. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to determine the significance of the difference in sleep quality before and after the intervention. Before the therapy, 86.7% of the LBW infants had poor sleep quality, while after nesting therapy, 86.7% showed good sleep quality. The statistical test resulted in a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of nesting on improving the sleep quality of LBW infants. The use of nesting therapy has a positive and significant effect on improving the sleep quality of LBW infants in Rejang Lebong. Therefore, nesting is recommended as part of standard care for LBW infants to support optimal growth and development.
