Batik is a vital cultural asset of Indonesia, especially in Java. Batik Kudus, created by local artisans, reflects the cultural richness of the Kudus region and carries influences from coastal batik styles. Each motif in Batik Kudus holds symbolic meanings tied to local traditions and values. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the symbolic significance of Batik Kudus, focusing on how its motifs represent Javanese cultural knowledge through traditional clothing. The research aims to understand the deeper connection between batik as an art form and the values rooted in the Kudus community's way of life. Rather than seeing batik merely as a textile or decorative item, the study views it as a cultural expression that embodies daily experiences, beliefs, and social values. Findings reveal that Batik Kudus motifs reflect the lifestyle, identity, and worldview of the local people. The patterns are not only aesthetic but also carry meanings that align with the cultural and spiritual life of the community. In essence, Batik Kudus serves as a living tradition—an artistic language through which the Kudus community tells its story, preserves its heritage, and expresses its collective identity.
