Abstract. Two-phase flow has very complex phenomena compared to single-phase flow, including interactions between phases, surface deformation and movement between fluids, changes in flow patterns, and so on. In addition to these phenomena, one of the phenomena that often appears in two-phase flow is pressure drop. This study aims to determine the characteristics of pressure drop and two-phase flow patterns in elbow mitter with an angle of 60º. The test section is made of acrylic pipe with an inner diameter of 36 mm and connected with PVC pipe from horizontal to vertical positions. Testing is carried out by varying the superficial velocity of water from 0.022 m/s - 0.034 m/s and variations in air volumetric quality (β) from 0.80 - 0.92. With water - air as the working fluid. The flow pattern is visualized with a cellphone camera and the pressure drop is measured with a U-tube manometer. The results of this study show that the lowest pressure drop value is at Usl 0.032m/s and β 0.92 with a pressure drop value of 402.20 N/m, and the highest pressure drop value is at Usl 0.028m/s and β 0.80 with a value of 1020.20 N/m with an average calculation value of 667.70 N/m, and the most dominant flow patterns are dispersed bubble flow, plug flow, slug flow, and churn flow.
