Abstract

In the environment discovered some bacteria that are resistant to heavy metalmercury also resistant to some antibiotics. This study aimed to isolation the bacteria fromsea waters of Losari Beach Makassar the have the potency of bacterial resistance to heavymetal mercury (Hg) and resistant to some types of antibiotics that used by public. Isolationof bacteria carried from seawater samples in Losari Beach by using medium NutrientAgar for Synthetic Sea Water added with 0.0002 mg/ml (0.02 ug / ml HgClconcentration. Furthermore isolates were tasted to of antibiotic-resistant bacteria usingpaper disc antibiotics (Oxoid) include 10μg Ampicillin, 30μg Novobiocyn, 30μgChloramphenicol, 75μg Cefoperazone and 5μg Ofloxacin. There was three types of isolates who resistant to mercury (Hg) and antibiotics be obtained that is: RmI isolate was also resistant to 5μg Ofloxacin , RmII isolate was resistant to 10μg Ampicillin and RmIIIisolate was resistant to all antibiotics.
