<![CDATA[The research is classrom action research, with four phase such as planning, action, observation and reflection. The research was conducted in science class 1 SMA Negeri 3 Makassar. The main problem of the research is improvement of student’s mathematics study results by applying cognitive strategy in problem solving. The research aims to improve student’s mathematics study results by applying cognitive strategy in problem solving. The results showed that: (1) on cycle 1 average value of student’s mathematics study results was 66,67 from probable maximum score reach of 100 with standard deviation of 12,33; (2) on Cycle II value of student’s mathematics study results was 71,19 from probable maximum score reach of 100 with with standard deviation of 11,94; (3) on c ycle I there were 50% or 21 students who completed the study and cycle II increased by 61,90% or 26 students; (4) clasically Cycle I nor Cycle II were not completed]]>
