Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental study which aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in increasing learners' motivation with different learning styles namely visual, audio and kinesthetic learning styles. The population of this study was all students in the X series at Bulukumba 1 SeniorHigh School. Determination of the rows that become the sample of the study was carried out by random sampling. Each learning model is represented by two classes as PjBL and DI classes. The study sample used was XMIPA 1, XMIPA 2, X MIPA 3, and X MIPA4. The design of this study was pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design factorial 2 x 3 pattern. The research instrument consisted of esay tests to measure learning motivation biology of students and student learning style questionnaires. The research data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with two-way covariate (ANAKOVA) analysis. The results showed that PjBL and learning styles influence students 'learning motivation, while the interaction between DI learning models and learning styles did not affect students' learning motivation. This shows that PjBl is effective in increasing students' learning motivation.
