Matching Case-Control Study of The Women’s Influence That Has Children On Decision of Contraception Method Usage

Abstract

Family Planning (KB) is one of the Indonesian government's policy programs that seek to improve people's reproductive health while reducing population growth.This study aims to determine the effect of women who have children ever born(X) on their decision to use contraception methods(Y) in Bogor Raya (Regency and also Municipality).The design approach in this study is a case-control study that is part of observational research. The data used come from the results of a survey conducted by the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) namely the 2015 Intercensal Population Survey (SUPAS).The McNemar test results with continuity correction state that there is a significant influence between X and Y which is matched based on the level of education and also the status of ownership of residential buildings.Calculation of the odds ratio (RO) obtained a value of 31.71. This means that the tendency of married women aged 10-54 years having children to use family planning is 31.71 times compared to those who do not have children ever born.
