Padang City is located in one of the highest seismic hazard zones in Indonesia, situated near the Sunda Megathrust and the Sumatran Fault System. Constructing earthquake-resistant buildings in this region is not only a technical necessity but also a life-safety imperative. This research outlines the design of a five-storey office building utilizing the Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) system in accordance with SNI 2847-2019 and SNI 1726-2019 standards. Seismic forces were modeled with the response spectrum approach, and a 3D Structural Analysis Software was utilized for structural evaluation. The site's soil classification resulted in a medium soil (SD) category, with SDS = 1.024 g and SD1 = 0.702 g, and the seismic response modification coefficient (R) = 8. The structural dimensions were established as follows: slab thickness of 130 mm, column size of 650 mm × 650 mm, primary beam size of 400 mm × 650 mm, secondary beam size of 250 mm × 450 mm, and tie beam size of 400 mm × 600 mm. Every reinforcement derived from each structural component meets the standards of SNI 2847-2019, the Standard of Structural Concrete for Buildings.
