This research discusses the beauty of Muslim women in the short film Cantik Itu Baik. The film by Teladan Cinema is directed by Abay Adhitya. The media builds a standard of beautiful women with excessive physical beauty. Whereas in Islam beauty is more emphasized on the heart than the physical. Therefore, religious films about women are needed today. The purpose of this study is to determine the meaning of Muslim women's beauty in denotation, connotation, and myth in the short film Cantik Itu Baik. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data analysis method used is semiotic analysis. Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis conveys three markings, denotation, connotation, and myth. The results showed that Muslim women can achieve beauty not necessarily through physical aspects alone. But it can be through other aspects, namely beautiful heart, beautiful morals, beautiful piety, beautiful knowledge and worship, beautiful friendship and beautiful self-care.
