Vaginal discharge is a common reproductive health issue among adolescent girls that can be influenced by various behavioral and cognitive factors. Adequate knowledge, positive attitudes, and proper personal hygiene practices play an important role in preventing abnormal vaginal discharge. This study aimed to analyze the influence of knowledge, attitudes, and personal hygiene practices on the incidence of vaginal discharge among female students. This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach and was conducted at Harapan Mekar Senior High School, Medan. The population consisted of all female students in grade XII, with a total sampling technique involving 33 respondents. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with the chi-square test at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The findings indicated that knowledge (p = 0.005), attitudes (p = 0.016), and personal hygiene practices (p = 0.005) were significantly associated with the incidence of vaginal discharge. These results suggest that improving students’ understanding and promoting proper hygiene behavior are essential strategies in reducing the risk of vaginal discharge. In conclusion, educational interventions focusing on reproductive health and hygiene practices are strongly recommended to enhance adolescent girls' awareness and preventive behavior.
