Abstract

Indonesia’s population is dominated by Generation Z, making this cohort strategic for the development of digital Islamic banking services. This study aims to examine the effects of social influence and facilitating conditions on the intention to use digital Islamic banking services among Generation Z in Tangerang City and Regency. Using a quantitative comparative approach, data were collected from 247 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The analysis was conducted using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that social influence and facilitating conditions have a significant effect on behavioral intention, which subsequently influences actual use behavior. Moreover, notable regional differences were identified between urban and rural areas. By incorporating the maqasid al-shariah perspective, this study emphasizes ethical values such as trust (amanah), cooperation (ta’awun), and ease (taysir) in enhancing technology acceptance. These findings contribute to the Islamic fintech literature by providing comparative insights into Gen Z digital Islamic banking adoption in Indonesia.
