Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between YouTube tutorial video viewing and the technical skills of futsal athletes at SMP Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving 15 futsal athletes. The focuswas directed toward changes in basic futsal skills, including passing, dribbling, shooting, and ball control after watching tutorial videos. The results indicate that tutorial videos had a positive impact on athletes’ skill improvement, with 12 athletes (80%) showing significant progress in passing and dribbling, 10 athletes (67%) improving in shooting, and 13 athletes (87%) demonstrating better ball control. Interviews revealed that athletes felt helped because they could repeatedly observe detailed movements, making it easier to imitate the correct techniques, while practice documentation showed more consistent movements and increased self- confidence. Thus, it can be concluded that YouTube tutorial videos are effective as supplementary learning media to enhance basic futsal technical skills and provide opportunities for athletes to learn independently beyond the coach’s instructions.
