Tapak liman is a medicinal plant that contains secondary metabolites such as phenolics, which are known to have potential as natural antioxidants. This study aimed to compare the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts from the leaves of Elephantopus scaber Linn and Elephantopus mollis Kunth. The extraction was performed by maceration using 70 % ethanol and 96% ethanol. Total phenolic content was determined using the Folin-Ciocalteu method and expressed in mg GAE/g of extract, while antioxidant activity was evaluated using the DPPH method and expressed as IC50 values. The results showed that the ethanol extract of E. mollis leaves had a higher total phenolic content, namely 98,0912 mg GAE/g, compared to E. scaber, which contained 44,8893 mg GAE/g. The antioxidant activity of E. mollis was also stronger, with an IC50 value of 34,27 µg/mL with a very strong category, while E. scaber showed an IC50 of 108,03 µg/mL with the medium category. Statistical analysis using the independent T-test indicated that these differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05).
