<![CDATA[Land use issues in Ambarawa Sub-district are of concern because it has a small area with the highest population density. The government has sought solutions to these problems through incentive and disincentive policies. By taking the problem of limited land resources, this article aims to examine the optimization of spatial policies in overcoming land use efficiency problems in the Ambarawa urban area through incentive policies and disincentive policies. The type of research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and literature study. The results of this study, based on literature sources, show that incentive and disincentive policies have been optimized by the Ambarawa District government. The provision of incentives is given to local governments in accordance with their authority while respecting the rights of the community. Meanwhile, disincentives are tools to prevent, limit growth or reduce activities that are not in line with the spatial plan. In addition to this, zoning regulation techniques can be studied further as suggestions for future research.]]>
