<![CDATA[This study aims to describe and analyze the phenomenon of polite language use by university students in campus environments from the perspectives of Islamic morals and social formality. Polite language in academic settings mirrors communication ethics, moral values, and respect for interlocutors. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected via observation, and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Findings indicate that students recognize the importance of proper Indonesian language use as respect for lecturers and positive self-image building. Internal awareness, cultural backgrounds, and family habits influence politeness application in academic communication. However, politeness tends to decline in informal contexts like social media due to expressive freedom. The research affirms that language politeness is not merely social formality but integral to Islamic akhlak, essential for harmonious and character-building campus environments. Recommendations urge campuses to strengthen language ethics education for consistent implementation across communication contexts.]]>
