Abstract

Safety behavior is important for every kitchen employee to avoid any risk of workplace accidents. One factor is safety leadership, which is related to safety behavior through motivating subordinates, providing attention, and supervising. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between safety behavior and safety leadership in kitchen employees in the non-hotel and non-franchise F&B sector. This study used a quantitative method with 102 kitchen employees as respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection method used was the distribution of questionnaires in the form of Google Forms through social media and physical questionnaires by visiting the respondents' workplaces. Data were processed using Kendall's Tau B. The results of this study showed a positive relationship between safety behavior and safety leadership in kitchen employees in the non-franchise food and beverage sector with a significance value of p = 0.003, a correlation value of r = 0.217. There are other factors that can shape safety behavior, namely knowledge, skills, length of service, and organizational climate.
