<![CDATA[Students, as a demographic, are particularly susceptible to the allure of fast fashion due to the social pressures to appear fashionable and adhere to evolving trends within the vibrant atmosphere of campus life. This study aims to explore the alignment of such consumer behaviors with Islamic values, which prioritize principles such as simplicity, justice, and sustainability. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through questionnaires administered to 12 students from the Development Economics program at Lambung Mangkurat University. The findings reveal that the majority of respondents exhibit restraint in purchasing fast fashion items and actively consider Islamic values when making purchasing decisions. Despite this, there remains a significant recognition among students that the pervasive influence of fast fashion trends can exacerbate consumerist tendencies. The results suggest that while fast fashion often promotes consumer behaviors that conflict with Islamic ideals of simplicity and justice, the awareness and consideration of these values among students can mitigate the frequency and volume of new clothing purchases. Thus, the study highlights a critical tension between the appeal of fast fashion and adherence to Islamic ethical guidelines, suggesting that greater emphasis on Islamic teachings could further curb consumerist behaviors and promote more sustainable fashion practices among students.]]>
