Artificial reproduction or known as Artificial Reproductive Technology (ART) is a series of stages that use human egg cells and sperm outside the body or embryos to create pregnancy. This artificial reproduction has various techniques such as egg and sperm donors, In Vitro Fertilization (IVI) Surrogacy, and Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer (GIFT). In the implementation of artificial reproduction, there are techniques that involve the uterus of women or sperm donors (males) who are not bound by marriage, which has caused controversy. This study aims to determine the Islamic perspective in viewing artificial reproduction related to the validity of legal couples, the prohibition of donors and surrogacy. The research method used is a literature study sourced from books and journals of Var Green with the object of research. The results of the study indicate that artificial reproduction is permitted in Islam as long as it is carried out by a married couple who are legally married, then the activities of sperm or egg donors and surrogacy are forbidden because they are included in adultery and major sins, triggering problems related to the lineage of children and inheritance rights.
