Abstract

Human creation is an interesting topic to review from various perspectives, both scientific and religious. In the context of anatomy, human formation begins with the fertilization process, where sperm meets ovum and produces a zygote which then develops through various stages such as morula, blastula, gastrula, until it reaches a complex fetus. This process includes the development of tissues, organs, and systems that are coordinated with each other to form a complete human individual. From the perspective of the teachings of the Qur'an, human creation is explained symbolically in several verses, such as in Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:12-14) which describes the stages of human development in the mother's womb. The Qur'an reveals how humans are created from soil, nuthfah (a drop of water), then turns into alaqah (a clot of blood), mudghah (a lump of flesh), until the formation of bones and flesh that wrap it. This explanation is in line with the anatomical stages of embryonic development, although with different terminology. By combining understanding from these two perspectives, this article is expected to add insight into human creation in a holistic view. This article also invites readers to reflect on God's greatness in the creation of humans which is full of miracles and order.
