As time progresses and technology becomes more sophisticated, the issue of IVF has become an important topic in the context of human regeneration. This controversy still continues, especially in the perspective of Islamic Law. According to the law, babies born from IVF procedures are allowed if the sperm comes from the husband who is bound in marriage and is implanted in the wife's womb. In contrast, the use of sperm or eggs from a third party is not allowed. In the Quran Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:13-14), Allah states about the creation of humans, which emphasizes the importance of keeping the reproductive process in accordance with His provisions. The fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) states that IVF using sperm and eggs from a legitimate married couple is permissible, while the use of another woman's womb is considered haram. This article is expected to increase understanding of the Islamic view of IVF, as well as maintaining family harmony, and preventing ethical and social problems in society.
