Abstract

Pondoknongko Bridge is a transportation infrastructure facility connecting Sukojati Village and Pondoknongko Village, Kabat District, Banyuwangi Regency, and plays an important role in supporting community mobility and the distribution of agricultural products and materials. As the structure has been in service since its construction in 1990–1991, an asset management-based bridge condition evaluation is required to determine appropriate maintenance strategies. This study aims to evaluate the condition of bridge elements based on visual inspection, analyze the traceability of the implementation of the Bridge Management System (BMS) and Bridge Condition Rating (BCR), and determine the required maintenance follow-up based on element conditions. The study employed a descriptive case study approach through the reanalysis of inventory and condition inspection data for Pondoknongko Bridge collected in 2023. The evaluation was conducted by linking the identified damage, component condition values, BMS assessment parameters, and the weighting process in BCR. The inspection results indicated condition degradation in the form of moss growth and dirt accumulation on concrete surfaces, wear on the deck and approach areas, localized damage to bearing seats, and deterioration of rubber bearings. The evaluation resulted in a BMS condition value of NK = 2, with several critical elements receiving a condition score of 4, particularly the piers, joints, rubber bearings, and pavement surfaces. The BCR aggregate value of 5.889 can be calculated mathematically; however, validation is required due to the presence of components with special codes. This study provides an evaluation of the consistency between visual inspection findings, element condition values, and condition-based maintenance decisions.
