Increasing competition in the manufacturing industry encourages businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises in the metal manufacturing sector, to continuously improve production process efficiency to maintain competitiveness. CV Surya Baja Mandiri is a metal manufacturing SME in Karawang that faces waste issues in the stripper bushing production process, particularly at the turning station which experiences overprocessing due to machining results that do not meet the specified dimensional requirements. This study aims to identify waste occurring in the stripper bushing production process and to design improvement proposals to enhance production efficiency. The method used is Value Stream Mapping (VSM) supported by Process Activity Mapping (PAM) within a lean manufacturing framework, with data collected through direct process time measurement using a stopwatch and field observation. The results identified four types of waste, namely overprocessing, defect, inventory, and motion, with a total Non Value Added Time of 105 seconds or 18.41% of the total process time. The actual production process has a lead time of 572 seconds with a Process Line Efficiency of 39%. Improvement proposals consisting of SOP and standard time development for the turning station, preventive maintenance for the lathe machine, and polibox relayout produced a future state map design with a lead time reduction to 448 seconds and an increase in Process Line Efficiency to 50%.
